Tomas Gustavsson
With a master’s degree in psychology from Lund University I made the decision in october of 2022 to start my own psychological practice in Malmö, wanting to offer skilled, accessible and openminded psychological treatment
I’ve wide and deep experience in working with preemptive as well as urgent care, dealing with specific or general issues and being well aware how important it is to feel a part of and in control of the choices being made in the therapeutic process without feeling like you are solely responsible for making the therapy work.
Equal care has always been an important issue with an integral respect for different worldviews, experiences and identities. I’m well aware of the many challenges facing people identifying as LGBTQIA+ and the need for your psychologist to understand these challenges and how they affect everyday life, but to also be aware of the possibility of issues that are unrelated to it and how important it is never to be exotified by your psychologist.
Social Media
I run an instagram account as @toguspsykologi where I, mainly in swedish, offer thoughts, methods and strategies for psychological selfcare and a deeper understanding of how we function (and sometimes don’t) as human beings with a complex mind in a complex world. Destruktiva relationer
A very interesting swedish language poddcast by Elisaveta Gräsbeck and Mirre Sennehed where they research and reflect upon destructive relationships; how they come to pass, how they work, who comes to be in them and how can you avoid ending up in them and how can you manage them if you find yourself in one. I’ve been privelieged to appear in a few episodes and offer a further psychological perspective on some issues. I warmly recommend the podd in its entirety if you can navigate the swedish language.

Its stated purpose is to offer psychological services to individuals and organisations anchored in competent psychology, sound ethics, established science and a constant awareness of and concern for the individual needs and conditions of the individual.
Accessible offices
My offices are fully accessible for people with special physical needs. If you have any questions about the accessibility then feel free to ask me and I’ll respond swiftly.
Ecological Awareness
This is a company that remains aware and mindful of our planet. All transportation is by bike or public transport. Paper use is held at a minimum in favour of digital alternatives and energy is used responsibly. Where it is deemed preferable for the therapeutic work or client needs paper is still used but it is always a conscious consideration.
GDPR compliance and confidentiality
Confidential communication takes place through digital services that comply with GDPR and swedish laws and regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Communication may also take place through phone, text message and e-mail regarding less sensitive issues such as checking and changing times for appointments or general questions. But I always recommend using the secure messaging system.
